Reaktor excels again in Best Workplaces in Europe competition

Reaktor Innovations was voted second in the 2009 Best Workplaces in Europe competition. Last year Reaktor topped the list, and earlier this year the company came top of the general category in the Finland’s Best Workplaces survey list for the second consecutive year.

“Prior to Reaktor, no other Finnish company had been this successful in the Great Place to Work survey. In the beginning of 2009 Reaktor achieved the highest ever score in the Finnish survey, and the company has once again reached the top in the Europe-wide survey. Reaktor’s management practices show that the company’s management of professionals is both competent and comprehensive. The positive influence of Reaktor’s strong organisational culture is evident both within the company and in its results. Reaktor has been built to last,” says Asta Rossi, CEO of the Great Place to Work® Institute Finland.

“This is absolutely terrific! Our thanks go to all Reaktor employees. Winning the Finnish survey and achieving second place in the European survey – these are great results. They show that we are still headed in the right direction. However, we can still do better every day,” says Reaktor’s CEO, Vesa Lauronen.

Reaktor is one of the most successful IT companies in Finland. The company continues to grow steadily and profitably, and is continually looking for new employees.

“The beginning of the year has gone well. It will be interesting to see where the market situation leads us. Right now it is a great time for recruiting new employees. I am convinced that our recipe will continue to work in the future; quality and expertise are in high demand,” Lauronen concludes.

Founded in 2000, Reaktor has been profitable and self-financing throughout its history. The company’s turnover in 2008 was approximately EUR 13.7 million, a growth of 48% compared to the previous year, with a profit of EUR 2.2 million. Reaktor currently employs approximately 110 software professionals.

The study was conducted by the Great Place to Work Institute, which annually selects the best workplaces in 40 countries around the world. The European study comprised of about 1,350 companies which had participated in the national Great Place to Work studies in 16 European countries. The best companies are selected primarily on the basis of their employees' opinions. Responses to the employee survey comprise two thirds of an organization's score. Every participating organization also completes a background survey regarding the company's personnel management practices.
