Reaktor Voted the Third Best Place to Work in Europe

The software company Reaktor was voted third in this year’s competition for Europe’s best workplaces. Last year, Reaktor was ranked second, and in 2008 it topped the list. Earlier this year, Reaktor won the general series of Finland's Great Place to Work 2010 survey for the third time in a row.

“I am extremely proud of all our employees. Winning the Finnish survey and achieving a top three spot in the European third time in a row – these are great results for us,” Reaktor CEO Vesa Lauronen says.

Reaktor’s financial figures also reflect the impact of the company’s focus on employee wellbeing. Last year, Reaktor’s turnover grew to €16.7 million (a 22% increase compared to the previous year), and the company’s profit totalled €3.4 million.

“We are pleased to see our turnover continuing to increase even in these challenging times. The most important thing, however, is that our clients prosper and are happy with our work,” Lauronen continues.

Reaktor continues to recruit new employees. Currently, the company employs about 130 people.

“The secret of our success is that we have been able to gather the best experts in the field under one roof. We take great care in our recruitment process. We hire new people whenever we find just the right kind of talented professionals. Our objective is to create the world’s best specialist company,” says Lauronen.

The Best Workplaces study was conducted by the Great Place to Work Institute, which charts the best workplaces in 40 countries around the world every year. The European study comprised over 1,300 companies that had participated in the national Great Place to Work studies in 17 European countries. The best companies are selected primarily based on their employees' opinions, with employee survey responses comprising two-thirds of an organisation’s score. Every participating organisation also completes a background survey of its human resource management practices.
