The software company Reaktor Innovations has been selected as Finland’s best place to work for the third year running. Reaktor won the general series in the study of Finland’s Best Workplaces 2010, which this year drew a record number of participants. Reaktor is also one of the most successful IT companies in Finland.
“Creating a great workplace is not just a project that culminates in a single moment. Reaktor’s third win in a row shows that these people are actually working in a great place every single day,” says Asta Rossi, CEO of the Great Place to Work Institute Finland.
“It is significant that the higher an organisation scores in the study, the higher the expectations of its employees. Reaktor is doing an exceptionally good job in meeting these expectations year after year. And because Reaktor’s business operations have progressed well during the economic downturn, it’s obvious that this work is paying off,” Rossi continues.
Reaktor’s business operations are based on high quality and working to the most exacting standards. Its staff are leading specialists in the industry, and the company invests an exceptional degree of effort in enhancing their skills and well-being. As proof of this, in spring 2009 Reaktor was also recognised as the second best place to work in Europe.
“This third win in a row is really amazing, and each and every Reaktor employee deserves a word of thanks. But we are not just going to rest on our laurels, because there’s always something to improve and enhance every day,” says Reaktor CEO Vesa Lauronen.
This year Reaktor will celebrate its tenth anniversary. The company has grown profitably throughout its history and is constantly hiring new employees.
“Investing in people and quality pays off – regardless of the economic situation. When a job is done properly our customers get the best value for money. We believe that this is a recipe for another decade of success,” Lauronen continues.
Reaktor currently employs more than 120 people. Last year’s turnover was approximately EUR 16.5 million, with growth of 20 per cent compared to the previous year, and a profit of approximately EUR 3 million.
The study of Finland’s best places to work was conducted by the Great Place to Work Institute, which annually selects the best workplaces in over 40 countries around the world. The best companies in Finland are primarily selected on the basis of their employees’ opinions, with employee survey responses comprising two thirds of an organisation’s score. Every participating organisation also completes a background survey of its human resource management practices.
