Learn the essentials of working as a Scrum Master or Scrum team member in this course. While the Scrum Alliance provides a list of core concepts that must be covered in the class, each instructor creates his or her own material, allowing courses to differ based on the strengths, interests, and experiences of the instructor.
This two-day Certified Scrum Master course provides a look into the what, how and especially the whys of Scrum. It'll cover the theory and history of Scrum and also the practical side, mostly by stories by the trainer and discussions in the group. The course is useful for anyone who would like to know Scrum in depth, including team members, product owners, Scrum Masters and other stakeholders, even though the course will be given mostly from the Scrum Master's perspective.
The course length is 2 days. The first day will cover the conceptual backgrounds of Scrum and how the roles in Scrum differ from what is often seen in organizations and how this will impact the organization. The second day will cover the how-to-do things and look in detail in the different parts of the Scrum framework.
Following completion (within 90 days) of the the course, course participants will be asked to take an online test as a part of CSM certification. The test will be in English. You will be notified about this test from the Scrum Alliance. The test concentrates on the fundamentals of Scrum. Your official guide for preparing for the exam is Scrum Guide. Reading and studying the guide as a preparation for taking the test is strongly encouraged.
All attendees who complete the course will become Certified Scrum Masters (CSMs), and will be listed on the Scrum Alliance website's CSM registry.
The trainers of Reaktor Innovations' CSM courses are Certified Scrum Trainers and are approved by the Scrum Alliance. They have all had experience of Scrum implementations in small, medium and large, coming up against and resolving many barriers to Scrum along the way. As coaches to individuals, teams and organizations, they will not only relay the theory but also the practical tips from their experiences to help attendees apply Scrum successfully in their context.
Before the CSM, we recommend reading the book Agile Project Management with Scrum by Ken Schwaber (ISBN: 073561993X), or the online Scrum Primer.
